Our Policies

  • All private student families are required to enroll in Auto-Pay. The payment method provided at sign-up will be automatically charged at the end of each month for the lessons taken during that month. By providing payment details, families agree to this recurring billing arrangement.

Charter families are expected to request the same monthly amount, regardless of holidays, breaks, or missed weeks. These funds will be added to the student’s account and remain available until used.

Charter families must request funds prior to the month in which the lessons will take place. It is the responsibility of the family to ensure that funds are submitted before lessons begin.

  • To respect our teachers' time, families must request to reschedule at least 24 hours in advance.

Requests made with less than 24 hours' notice will be considered a cancellation by the family and are non-refundable.

Rescheduling is handled on a case-by-case basis based on teacher availability. If a timely reschedule isn't possible, the student will not be charged for the lesson. For the charter student, the funds for that lesson will remain in the student’s account to be used at a later date.

  • When a lesson must be canceled, notification should be sent to the teacher at least 24 hours in advance; the rescheduling policy will then apply.

No make-up lesson will be provided for cancellations made within 24 hours of the lesson and no refunds will be provided.

If a teacher cancels due to illness, immediate rescheduling will be offered based on teacher availability. While our teachers will often try to reschedule, they may prefer to cancel and not charge the student or postpone the makeup lesson for a later time.

  • Regular practice is essential for progress. A minimum of 15–30 minutes of daily practice is recommended, depending on the student's age and level. Teachers will communicate specific practice guidelines appropriate for each student.

  • Students are required to have their own instruments for home practice and private students are responsible for purchasing any required materials.

Charter students have books included in their semester registration fee. Materials will be ordered by Foster Music Studios so that books are not an out-of-pocket expense.

  • Students are expected to arrive on time for their lessons. If a student is late, the lesson will still end at the scheduled time, and the full lesson fee will apply.

If the teacher is late, the missed time will be added to the end of the lesson or our rescheduling policy will apply for those extra minutes.

  • We observe all federal holidays and leave it up to teacher discretion whether to offer a lesson during the following dates. If lessons are canceled on these dates, our reschedule policy will apply :
